However, I'm worried that the media companies who have control over our access to information are working in the opposite direction to make the Internet more like TV. The kind of self-selection of content that used to be done by changing the channel at least required some active input from the consumer. The algorithmic delivery of content from social media and search engines based on user behavior is more subtle and passive and I think that can be far more dangerous.
